PEACEFUL ABODE Located south of the Strait of Hormuz and neighboured by the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the Sultanate of Oman is the second largest country in the Arabian Peninsula. It is a member of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). Ruled by His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said Al Said, the country has a population of about three million with an area of 309,500 sq kms. Oman is one of the cleanest and peaceful countries in the world, blessed with abundant natural resources and a rich culture that dates back to centuries. Development activities in the Sultanate is taking place at a faster pace with the government currently focusing on providing world class infrastructure facilities including airports, seaports, and highway networks. Projects worth millions are under various stages of implementation and many more projects are on the anvil in the coming years.
